About Dr. Mark A. Newman

Dr. Mark Newman is a board certified orthopedic surgeon practicing in Newport Beach, specializing in reconstructive and joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder.

Dr. Newman earned his medical degree at University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. He completed his surgical internship and residency at University of California, Davis in Sacramento. Following residency Dr. Newman completed a one-year fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee with the internationally acclaimed Dr. William Bargar at Sutter General Hospital and the University of California, Davis Orthopedic Research Laboratories.

Dr. Newman has multiple publications and presentations on total joint replacement, including five presentations at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has been involved in the development of new orthopedic devices and instruments throughout his career and was the lead researcher for an FDA approved study for new leading edge technology in hip replacement. He was the first surgeon to perform minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery in Newport Beach and continues to be involved in development of new orthopedic implants and surgical techniques.

Dr. Newman has special interest in complex reconstructive surgery and treatment of orthopedic infections.
