About Dr. Adam Rivadeneyra

Dr. Rivadeneyra is a Board Certified Primary Care Sports Medicine physician with a background in Family Medicine specializing in non-surgical Orthopedics and Sports Medicine for patients of all ages (4 years and older). His practice includes acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound for Orthopedic issues, and comprehensive medical care for elite athletes. He also has specialized training in therapeutic/diagnostic injections for joint or soft tissue pain with ultrasound and fluoroscopy, including lumbar spine epidural and joint injections.

Dr. Riva studied Biology and Economics at UC San Diego and worked in the Biotech industry before attending Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Riva completed a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City where he served as a Team Physician for a number of high schools, local colleges. He also served as a Team Physician for the OKC Dodgers (AAA MLB), Oklahoma City Blue (NBA G-League), and the Oklahoma City Barons (AHL Hockey). Dr. Riva moved to Fort Worth, TX to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship with John Peter Smith Hospital where he served as a Team Physician for Texas Christian University (TCU), covering the Horned Frogs Football, Baseball, Basketball, Track and Field, Tennis, Volleyball and Soccer teams.

Prior to joining Hoag Orthopedic Institute and the Orthopaedic Specialty Institute in the city of Orange, Dr. Riva practiced in Ventura, CA with Community Memorial Health System and spent time as a volunteer Team Physician for Pepperdine University. He currently works with Golden West Community College. He has a passion for patient education and enjoys an individualized approach to care based on the patient's health history and goals and participates in frequent activities for continuing medical education.
