Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI), one of the nation’s leading providers of orthopedic and spine care, has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a top performer in patient experience. HOI has earned a prestigious 5-star rating in the most recent Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey.
“Consistently earning a 5-star Patient Survey Rating from CMS reflects our dedication to delivering exceptional patient care,” said Kim Mikes, CEO, Hoag Orthopedic Institute. “This recognition underscores the commitment and compassion of our entire team, who consistently go above and beyond to provide every patient with outstanding care.”
Hoag Orthopedic Institute is one of the few hospitals in Orange County to regularly earn a prestigious five-star rating in an HCAHPS survey. Additionally, HOI achieves higher ratings than the national average and ranks in the nation’s top 3 percent in this category.
Hospitals are evaluated through a national, standardized survey of patients about their experience during a recent inpatient stay. HOI earned one 5-star rating for its overall hospital rating and another for patients’ willingness to recommend the hospital. The CMS survey also rated the ability to communicate with nurses and the overall responsiveness of hospital staff with five stars as well. A five-star rating was also awarded for clear communication about medications.
Hoag Orthopedic Institute, the highest volume provider of joint replacements in the Western United States, has received accolades from many publications and health care organizations for its quality, patient experience and outcomes.
