HOI Adds Two Orthopedic Surgeons To Medical Staff

Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI), one of the largest providers of orthopedic care in the nation, has announced that it has added two more orthopedic surgeons to its medical staff.

“We are excited to welcome our new medical staff to Hoag Orthopedic Institute,” said Steven L. Barnett, M.D., chief medical officer of Hoag Orthopedic Institute. “With our commitment to superior outcomes, orthopedic specialty focus, and growing national reputation, we have utmost confidence that our new physicians will be able to add to our collective high-quality care and standards.”

The new Hoag Orthopedic Institute medical staff are:

Orthopedic Surgery – Sports Medicine:

  • Myra Trivellas, M.D. – Dr. Trivellas received her Bachelor of Science in molecular, cellular and developmental biology from Yale University, where she played lacrosse all four years. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. Dr. Trivellas then completed her orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA. She attended Duke University and completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery fellowship. Dr. Trivellas is currently a physician at Newport Orthopedic Institute.

Orthopedic Surgery – Foot and Ankle:

  • Brandon Haghverdian, M.D. – Dr. Haghverdian attended the University of California, Irvine and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Haghverdian then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He attended Duke University and completed a foot and ankle surgery fellowship. Dr. Haghverdian is currently a physician at Orthopaedic Specialty Institute.
