About Dr. Daniel P. DeBottis
Daniel DeBottis, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in shoulder and elbow surgery. He specializes in the treatment of rotator cuff tears, shoulder and elbow arthritis, shoulder and elbow instability and dislocations, including all injuries of the upper extremity. He has extensive experience with arthroscopic shoulder surgery, as well as anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement surgery. While Dr. DeBottis’ practice focuses primarily on the operative and non-operative treatment of upper extremity injuries, he welcomes patients with any orthopaedic injuries.
Dr. DeBottis earned his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology and Chemistry from St. Lawrence University, where he was a Faculty Scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After college he did biochemical research at Harvard Medical School’s Center for Blood Research. He attended medical school at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at University Hospital in Syracuse, New York. During residency, both his peers and attendings recognized him for his exceptional leadership and patient care, he received the Resident Excellence in Teaching Award. He continued his training with a fellowship in advanced shoulder and elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Green. He has participated in both clinical and basic science research and has authored a number of articles, book chapters and national poster presentations.
Dr. DeBottis grew up in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where he was a Division III All-American football player and varsity lacrosse player. His wife, Sarah Stanowicz MD is a Dermatologist, who also works in Orange County.
