About Dr. Stephen A. Mikulak
Dr. Mikulak is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery. He was the first surgeon in Orange County to perform outpatient hip replacement surgery. His protocol for pain management, coupled with less invasive surgery, has resulted in rapid patient recovery from hip and knee replacement surgeries.
Dr. Mikulak received his medical training at the University of Southern California, where he received numerous prestigious academic scholarships and was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for his outstanding performance. To complete his training, Dr. Mikulak crossed town to UCLA where he completed his orthopedic surgery residency and a subspecialty fellowship in joint replacement surgery. He has published and presented extensive research projects.
Dr. Mikulak has been in private practice since finishing his training in 1998. He also is an assistant clinical professor at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he instructs other orthopedic surgeons in the latest techniques in trauma and joint replacement surgery.
When not working, Dr. Mikulak enjoys golfing, surfing, hiking, cycling and reading.
