About Dr. John M. Ibrahim

Dr. Ibrahim is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized expertise in conditions affecting the upper extremity, from the shoulder to the fingertips. Dr. Ibrahim treats conditions including carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, trigger finger, elbow and shoulder dislocations and fractures, among others.

Dr. Ibrahim earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he graduated as an MD with Distinction. He went on to complete a rigorous orthopedic surgery residency at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, a high-volume Level 1 trauma center. During his chief year, he was selected as an AO Trauma Fellow where he traveled to Lucerne, Switzerland, and trained in advanced techniques in orthopedic trauma, with a special focus on minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Ibrahim further refined his surgical training through a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he specialized in the treatment of bone, joint, tendon, and nerve conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

Throughout his training, Dr. Ibrahim has been recognized with numerous teaching awards and academic honors. He is a published researcher in the field of orthopedics and has been the recipient of several research grants. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery.

Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Ibrahim values an active lifestyle and understands the importance of physical wellness. During his fellowship, he worked closely with collegiate student-athletes at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne, and Robert Morris Universities, gaining valuable experience in sports-related injuries. In his free time, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys cooking, traveling with family and friends, and surfing the Orange County beaches where he grew up.
