Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) has announced that its ambulatory surgery center in Mission Viejo has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers for Orthopedics & Spine for the second year in a row. The Mission Viejo surgery center is one of five that HOI operate in Southern California.
The nation’s ambulatory surgery centers were evaluated based entirely on objective, risk-adjusted measures of their patients’ outcomes, including how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes. Out of the nearly 5,000 surgery centers rated, fewer than 15% earned a “High Performing” rating.
“We are incredibly proud that Hoag Orthopedic Institute’s surgery center in Mission Viejo has once again been recognized among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report,” said Kim Mikes, MBA, RN, CEO of HOI, one of the largest providers of orthopedic and spine care in the nation. “This distinction reflects the dedication, expertise and compassion of our physicians, nurses and staff who remain steadfast in delivering outstanding orthopedic and spine care to our community.”
