About Dr. Stacey S. Bederman

Samuel Bederman, MD, specializes in adult and pediatric scoliosis, minimally invasive spinal surgery, robotic spine surgery, and complex revision cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery.

Dr. Bederman treats patients of all ages with developmental and degenerative spinal deformities. The practice also welcomes people who have spine conditions caused by trauma, who need support after surgery or who have cancer-related conditions.

Dr. Bederman is double-fellowship trained. He earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto, where he also served his residency in orthopedic surgery. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and completed his first fellowship program in spinal surgery at Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. After completing his fellowship, he also earned his doctorate in health services research from the University of Toronto. Subsequently, he completed a second clinical fellowship in scoliosis and spinal deformity at University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Bederman is an expert in his field, having authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and 10 book chapters. He’s given numerous scientific presentations nationally and internationally. He also trains orthopedic surgeons in robotic spine surgery. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the North American Spine Society, the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, AO Spine North American, the American Orthopedic Association and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
