About Dr. Nicholas D. Stekas

Dr. Nicholas Stekas is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and the care of shoulder, knee, and hip conditions. He provides both operative and non-operative sports medicine treatment for athletes and active individuals of all ages, with a focus on helping patients return to the activities they love.

He completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Orange County in Irvine, CA, following his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City and medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. In addition to his training, Dr. Stekas has published extensively in leading orthopaedic and spine journals and contributed chapters to textbooks on musculoskeletal disorders and spine surgery.

Dr. Stekas also serves as a team physician for Saddleback College football and Trabuco Hills High School football, roles that reflect his passion for keeping athletes healthy, active, and performing at their best.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, running, playing guitar, following baseball and soccer, and traveling. He is fluent in English and conversational in Spanish.
