Dr. Casey Slattery is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon and back pain specialist who is dedicated to providing compassionate, cutting-edge care for patients with spinal disorders. 

Dr. Slattery's practice emphasizes personalized, patient-centered care. He collaborates closely with patients and colleagues to stay at the forefront of spinal innovation. From nonoperative treatments to complex surgical interventions, his approach prioritizes avoiding spine surgery whenever possible while ensuring the best outcomes. A leader in academic medicine, Dr. Slattery has authored over 20 peer reviewed manuscripts and book chapters in top journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research. He has presented his research at national conferences, earning multiple awards and honors. Committed to serving others, Dr. Slattery has volunteered in underserved communities in New Mexico and Columbia, South America, reflecting his dedication to improving lives beyond the operating room.

Casey Slattery, MD, grew up in Gillette, Wyoming where his family still resides. Prior to college, he spent several years competing in junior hockey around the country and working as a welder for local coal mines back home. He then returned to school and attended the University of Denver for his undergraduate studies before moving to Seattle for his medical degree at the University of Washington. Orthopedic surgery residency brought him to Albuquerque and was completed at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Slattery completed his orthopedic surgery fellowship in spine surgery with Hoag Orthopedics. During his free time, he lives an active life filled with fitness, golf, hockey, sand volleyball, and most recently learning to surf and scuba dive.
