Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award

Hospital Awarded for Achieving and Sustaining Excellence and Outstanding Performance Scores in Patient Experience

IRVINE, Calif. [November 15, 2018] Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI), one of the largest volume providers of orthopedic care in the nation, has recently been named a 2018 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey, making it the fifth consecutive year that HOI has been a recipient of the accolade.

The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations nationwide based on extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in patient experience, employee and physician engagement or clinical quality. HOI earned the Guardian of Excellence Award for maintaining a high level of excellence in the area of patient experience. The award criteria was maintaining the 95th percentile or higher in overall rating by inpatients.

“Exceptional patient experience and quality of care are at the core of our culture as a healthcare organization,” said Jennifer Mitzner, CEO of HOI. “We are honored to once again receive this distinguished award from Press Ganey.”

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.

"We are proud to honor Hoag Orthopedic Institute,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “This award is a testament of the organization’s leadership in delivering patient-centered care. By achieving and sustaining this level of excellence, Hoag Orthopedic Institute continues to demonstrate their commitment to reducing patient suffering and advancing the overall quality of health care.”
